Labor Law Compliances in the Context of Bangladesh NGOs, In Accordance with NGO Bureau and Other Statutory Requirements

inSights – Institute of Innovations for Gender and Humanitarian Transformations successfully conducted a three-day-long participatory training on “Labor Law Compliances in the Context of Bangladeshi NGOs, in accordance with NGO Bureau” for management team, HR personnel, and heads of key departments of Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK). This training was provided to evaluate GK’s current labor practises and policies, which it believes, need to be in line with the guidelines set out by the NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB), the labor Law, international labor standards and other pertinent statutory bodies. In order to handle various operational difficulties related to labor laws and regulations with a clear and concise answer, the GK, in association with inSights, created and provide customised training to GK’s staff with a comprehensive training module, which included training on the formation and management of NGOs, introduction to Bureau of NGO Affairs: structure, aims, objectives and functions, Foreign Donations (Voluntary Activities) Regulation Act 2016, implementation and management of foreign grant projects, labor laws and regulations of Bangladesh, protection from sexual harassment and other laws governing NGOs, review of the manual of Human Resource Management of Gonoshasthaya Kendra and the principles and manuals for the management of NGOs.
