Prof. Afsan Chowdhury, a renowned development specialist and researcher, has over 50 years of experience in both programme and research. He has among others at national and international public including UN agencies, USAID, BRAC, BBC, BRAC University etc. Prof. Chowdhury has experience in Diversity and Human rights, humanitarian assistance, CRC, SRHR, and Social communication over four decades. He has edited and is the author/co-author of over 40 books, number of radio and TV documentaries; currently, he is teaching Research Methodology at BIGD ( BRAC University) Prof. Afsan has led over 40 research projects on Diversity and Discrimination. This includes a. Community-based conflict measurement in Sunmaganj areas b. Three community conflicts in the CHT ( BRAC), c. Community-based conflict in Cox’s Bazar and Teknaf for MSI (USAID). He was a short term Fellow at Oxford University, Oak Fellow on International Human Rights, Colby College in Maine (USA) and Research Associate at York Centre for Asian Research (YCAR) York University Toronto. He was given the Bangla Academy award in 2018 for his 1971 related research.
